Delicious Mexican food. Great atmosphere. People know how to whip it up good at this place! Will be coming back their family meals are such a good deal for the amount of food. Service is always friendly.
Delicious tacos! I ordered dos carne asada tacos and dos lengua tacos. Their in house made corn tortillas were the stars of the show for me! The owner boasts the corn tortillas are made from scratch. Literally he says pointing to the stack of bags containing corn kernels in which he says come from San Francisco. He says the corn kernels are toasted and then grinded the traditional way before being pressed into tortillas. I appreciated hearing the process and knowing the extra miles that goes in their craft!
Hands down best bang for the buck. The food is fresh the carne is perfect. Will definitely return!
I ordered through doordash . I got the asada plate and my bf got the super asada burrito, everything was good and I love the guacamole, the meat is perfectly seasoned and exactly what you're looking for , the meat has that at home cooked/grilled taste, and a good price with the portions, and the corn tortillas taste so fresh also , will order again and recommend others to try
Wow is the first word that came to mind. You know this place is legit the moment you walk in. The fresh smell of tortillas being made along with roasted chicken and other amazing meats. Excellent customer service with attention to detail. Everyone is super friendly and all the food is fresh. Buying carnitas by the pound is a dream come true. This place is an amazing and will continue to return.
The food at El Toro Tortilleria is delicious! I picked up dinner for the first time yesterday and I'm so glad I finally did. They are on busy Tulare street with limited street parking. The cross street is Barton which is a one way here. el Toro has a small parking lot but it can be tricky getting in and during busy times, it gets very full with people parking a little haphazardly - just a warning so you're aware of the situation. When you enter, there is a sign indicating to order to the far right. I almost missed it and went to the register. At the ordering counter, they take your order and put it together in front of you and then it gets delivered to the cash register. If you're ordering meats by the pound, you'll be asked if you want it chopped or in whole pieces (if you're making tacos or burritos with it, you want it chopped). At the register you can get drinks, chips, pan dulce and chicharrones by the pound. This visit I got the family combo #1: one pound of asada (beef), a pint of refried beans, rice, salsa (red or green which you choose at the register) and a dozen corn tortillas - which she got fresh from the production line! I cannot stress how warm and delicious those tortillas were. I also got a pound of carnitas because how could I not? I also wanted to get chile rellenos and tamales but I held off but I will soon! Everything was delicious except the rice was just good. I don't normally care for asada because it tends to be dry and blah but this was smoky and tender and well seasoned. The total for all of the food I got was $38 and we had leftovers (three adults). As you can imagine, I will be back soon.
Best tortillas in town! Both of my parents said they tasted like the ones in Mexico. When I walked in with my mom the cashier gave us a sample of their drinks. I tried the strawberry water and my mom had the champurado. Both were amazing. Since it was our first time we had questions, the cashier was super kind and even gave us a tortilla to try. We also had some chicharones. They were so delicious. Definitely try this spot!!
We landed in Fresno and we were hungry for some food. Knowing we were in California, we thought tacos would be a safe bet to find something really delicious. Using Yelp, we came across El Toro tortillería. These were THE BEST tortillas I've ever had. The fillings for the tacos were flavorful and amazing as well. If you like tamales, you also have to try that. It's a plus if you speak Spanish, but appreciation of good food is the same in every language. There's a couple of places to sit and eat, but we saw most people taking takeout. We rarely go back to the same place more than once when we're on vacation, but we both decided we were going back as soon as we walked out.
